Tactical Ballistics has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind. It does not know who you are. Almost everything it holds never leaves the device it is on, and the exceptions are listed below in full.
What the app stores on your device
- Your loads, bullets, rifles, scopes, targets, folders, handloading records, truing records and measured groups.
- Photographs you add — of targets or of a reticle.
- Your settings, including units and which drill the timer is set to.
These live in your browser's or the app's own storage on the device. They are not uploaded, synchronised or backed up by us, and we cannot see them. Clearing the app's data, or uninstalling it, deletes them — so export anything you want to keep.
What leaves the device, and when
- Weather, only if you ask for it. Pressing Fetch weather sends your coordinates to the Open-Meteo forecast service (open-meteo.com) to get the temperature, pressure, humidity and wind at that place. Nothing else is sent, and nothing about your loads or your shooting goes with it. If you never press it, no location ever leaves the device.

Nothing else is transmitted. The app works with no network at all.
Microphone
The par timer can time shots by ear. Audio is examined on the device, in the moment, to notice the loud onset of a shot — it is never recorded, never stored and never transmitted. The permission is requested only when you first switch listening on, and the rest of the app works without it.
Camera and photographs
Photographs you take or choose, for measuring a group or for a reticle, are stored on the device and used only to draw them back to you. They are not uploaded.
The beta list
If you submit an address on this site, we store the address, the date, the country Cloudflare reports for the request and your browser's user-agent string. No IP address is stored. It is used for one thing: sending you an invitation to the test. It is not shared, sold or added to any other list.
Ask at the address below to be removed and the record is deleted. The list is deleted in full once the app leaves testing.
Children
The app is a tool for licensed shooting sports and is not directed at children, and it collects nothing that would identify anyone.
Changes
If this ever changes, the date at the top changes with it and the previous wording stays in the site's public history.
